For vendors

List your tool on Tools for the Trade

We're inviting the first software vendors to become founding partners. It's free: you fact-check the pricing page we wrote about your tool and link to it or share it. Your tool gets a Founding partner badge and a spot on the site.

What Tools for the Trade is

  • Free and independent. Owners of small trade businesses (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, cleaning, landscaping and more) use it for free, with no sign-up.
  • Sourced pricing pages. Every price is read from the vendor's own pricing page and dated. If a price isn't published, we say so instead of guessing. We track 34 tools today.
  • No sales calls for owners. Owners get prices and picks without booking a demo or handing over a phone number.
  • New. The site is new, so we don't quote traffic or subscriber numbers yet.

What a founding featured listing includes

A sourced pricing page

Your tool's page at /tools/<your-tool>/ covers plans, free plan, trial and fit, each read from your own pricing page and dated. You can fact-check it any time. See the format on our Jobber pricing page (an example, not a partner).

A Founding partner badge

Shown on your directory card and on your tool page.

A spot in the Founding partners strip

A strip listing founding partners on this page and the home page.

A newsletter mention

When our price-change newsletter launches, founding partners get a mention in it.

What we ask in return

  1. A fact-check. Read your tool's page and tell us anything that's wrong or out of date, ideally with a link to your public pricing page.
  2. A link or a share. Link to your page from your website, blog, partner page or help center, or share it with your customers or followers.

It's free for the first founding partners. There's nothing to buy.

Editorial independence

Partners never change our verdicts, rankings or prices. The quiz rules are published and identical for every tool, whether a vendor is a partner, an affiliate, or neither. A correction changes a fact only when your public pricing page (or another source we can cite) supports it, and every price shows the date we checked it. The badge shows the relationship openly; it doesn't move your tool up. Read our methodology and affiliate disclosure.

Not listed yet?

If your software serves small trade businesses and isn't in our directory yet, ask us to add it. We write a real pricing page from your public pricing page, with sources and dates, and mark anything you don't publish as unknown. Adding a tool is free and doesn't come with a guaranteed verdict.

Vendor FAQ

Does a founding featured listing cost anything?

No. It's free for our first founding partners. In return, we ask you to fact-check your tool's pricing page on our site and to link to it or share it.

Will being a founding partner change our ranking or verdict?

No. Partners never change our verdicts, rankings or prices. The quiz uses the same published rules for every tool, and the Founding partner badge shows the relationship openly instead of moving your tool up.

How much traffic does Tools for the Trade get?

The site is new, so we don't quote traffic, visitor or subscriber numbers yet. If we publish numbers later, they will be real, measured figures.

What does the fact-check involve?

Read the page we wrote about your tool and tell us anything that's wrong or out of date, ideally with a link to your public pricing page. We update the page from that source and show the date we checked it.

Our tool isn't listed yet. Can you add it?

Yes, if it serves small trade businesses. Email support.toolsforthetrade@gmail.com and we'll write a real pricing page from your public pricing page, with sources and dates. Anything you don't publish is marked unknown.
